Abstrak
Curriculum development in 2013 is expected to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. Curriculum 2013 to develop competencies attitude, skills and knowledge. Curriculum 2013 for elementary school and equivalent, using the method in which the integrative thematic teaching materials integrated into a themes. Curriculum 2013 demanding scientific approach is to create learning conditions that encourage learners to find out from various sources through observation, the process involves skills such as observing, classifying, measuring, predicting, explaining, and concluded. Gifted child is a child who has the inherent ability in a person who is congenital and is the result of interaction with the environment influences the characteristics of the particular and the universal exceptional. Underachievement child is a child who has a high IQ ability but apparently low academic achievement. Handling children and underachievement of gifted or intelligent alternative teaching approach that is differentiated instruction. Differentiated instruction has the same characteristics with the scientific approach. Characteristics of differentiated teaching is teaching focuses on concepts and principles subject matter, evaluation and development of student learning readiness accommodated in the curriculum, there is a flexible grouping of students, students become active explorers. Scientific characteristics is student-centered, involving science process skills in constructing concepts, laws or principles, involving cognitive processes, particularly thinking skills, students can develop character. It can be concluded that the curriculum in 2013 is expected to be applied to all types of children.
