Abstrak

The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of the PMRI approach for the mathematical problem solving skill of elementary school students. This research uses experimental quasy with a pretest-posttest control group design approach in population of 75 students (three classes) in SD Plus Latansa with an equivalent ability level and two classes were taken as a sample with a total sample 50 students. VB class as an experimental group, while VC as a control group. The independent variable in this research is effect of PMRI approach, while the dependent variable is mathematical problem solving skill of elementary school students. Data of problem-solving skill were obtained through the description test. The pretest average increased from 54.08 to 77.52 after the posttest was carried out using the PMRI approach. Data were analyzed by t-test. The t-test results obtained tcount of 6.167 and ttable of 1.677 with a significance level of 5%. Then it can be interpreted that tcount> ttable, then H0 is rejected. The data shows that learning by implementing the PMRI approach can significantly improve mathematical problem solving skill
