Abstrak

There are some factors that influence in learning English, one of them is learning motivation. If the students have learning motivation, they can enjoy their study. They have good performance in the class and also get good learning output.The researcher divided university students into two types.First, students who are working while studying or usually called as part-time students. Second, students who only focus in their study or usually called as full-time students. The objective of the research is to compare the difference English learning motivation between Full-time and Part-time students in English Education Department Muria Kudus University Academic Year 2019/2020 This research belongs to non-experimental research that categorized into quantitative. For sampling, the researcher determines the sample in two ways. For full-time students, the researcher used proportional random sampling, and for part-time students the researcher used purposive random sampling. The researcher took15% from fourth, sixth, and eight semester students. There will be five students from each semester. And took 8% from second semester, there will be three students. And for the full time, the researcher took 26% from second, fourth, sixth and eight semester students, there will be ten students from each semester.For the instrument, the researcher used close-ended questionnaire which is adopted from Attitude/Motivation Test Battery (AMTB) obtained from R. C. Gardner, Ph.D. To analyse the data, the researcher used mean, standard deviation, and independent sample t-test to analyse the data. The result shows that, the mean of full-time students is higher than the part-time students(X1 > X2 | 135,5>117). It shows that the score of full-time students is high and the score of part-time students is below full-time, that is fair. And from the result of t-obtained = 6,31 where higher than t-table = 2.003 on the level of significance is 0.05. So, the conclusion there is significant difference of English Learning Motivation between Full-Time and Part-Time Students of English Education Department UniversitasMuria Kudus in Academic Year 2019/2020.
