Abstrak

Verbal reinforcement is the common type of reinforcement used by teachers at schools. And in microteaching class there is students teacher that do teaching practice. If previous research supports the importance of reinforcement in the teaching and learning process. In this study the researcher proposes research on reinforcement but in a different aspect. Differences between previous research and current research are the focus, research location and results. And in this research, the researcher also focused on what are factors affecting students teacher to choose certain verbal reinforcement in microteaching The objective of the research based on the problem, is to find out the what types of verbal reinforcement do the students teacher use in microteaching class and the second what are factors affecting students teacher to choose certain verbal reinforcement in microteaching class. . The method of this research is qualitative research design. The instrument in this research is documentation and interview. The participants of this research, there are 12 students teacher and 6 student teacher for the interview of English Education Department in sixth semester. And the analyze, the researcher watch teaching video and make a transcript ,interview some students and then interpreting the result. The result and the conclusion of this research is according to the documentation the there are three types of verbal reinforcement that is word phrase and sentence. and for the interview the factor or reason that the student teacher choose to used word, phrase and sentence because they just said the the type of reinforcement based on their mind and word type is the simple one. The suggestion of this research is, there are some suggestions presented to students teacher and also the future researcher. To students teacher the researcher hope that every students teacher try to used verbal reinforcement when they teach in microteaching class or in teaching practice. To future Researchers hopefully the future researcher try to conclude the similar topic and explore with the other class such as in instructional skill class or others.
