Skripsi, English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Muria Kudus University. Advisor (1) Dr. Ahdi Riyono, S.S., M.Hum. (2) Atik Rokhayani, S.Pd., M.Pd. Pronunciation is an important component in developing spoken language, listening, and speaking abilities. It is difficult to speak English properly without appropriate pronunciation, and faults in pronunciation can lead to communication misunderstandings. When communicating, pronouncing a word becomes one of the most significant elements for the speakers to be understood by the other people. The most important aspect of speaking is accurate pronunciation in order to deliver the information since comprehension is the most critical factor for both the speaker and the listener. The objective of this research is to find out production of sound English consonants and vowels, to find out factors influence students' difficulty in pronouncing English sounds. This research uses error analysis method. The population of this research is 35 students, with a sample of 2 tenth grade students of SMK N 1 Pati. I use pronunciation test as the research instrument in collect the data. The result of this research shows that there were 37 pronunciation errors. The errors include both vowels and consonants. The findings of the research revealed that students made most of the pronunciation errors on the vowels of the words. There were 16 consonant pronunciation errors and 21 vowel pronunciation errors found. The researcher concluded that the most factors influence students' difficulty in pronouncing English sounds are intralingual factors. Students pronounce words based on how they are written and that they do not know how to pronounce several sounds in the target language correctly, they have difficulties pronouncing it.
