Abstrak
Pronunciation is one of the most important aspects of speaking skills, especially for students. Despite the fact that pronunciation is not explicitly stated in the English teaching curriculum, students must still master the four English skills, one of which is speaking. Pronunciation is one aspect of speaking evaluation. However, many students' pronunciation abilities are below average due to a lack of confidence. There are many activities that can help students improve their pronunciation skills, such as using tongue twisters. The purpose.of this research was to determine the english pronunciation ability to the eleventh-graders students in the academic years 2022/2023 befor and after being taught by using tongue twister on instagram. To find out whether or not there is a significant difference between English Pronunciation ability to the eleventh-grade students of SMA PGRI 1 Pati in academic year 2022/2023 before and after being taught by using tongue twister on Instagram. In this research, the method used is quantitative using a quasi-experimental design and using one group, namely pre-test and post-test. The population in this study was 59 students with a sample of 32 students. method of data collection is done by using pre-test and post-test. The result of this research shows that the mean score of the eleventh-grade students of SMA PGRI 1 Pati in academic year 20222023 before being taught by using tongue twister on instagram is 58 (poor categorized ), with the standard deviation is 8.25. Meanwhile, the students’ mean score after being taught by using tongue twister on instagram is 82.18(very good categorized), with the standard deviation is 5.28. It is prove that there is any significant difference english pronunciation ability to the eleventh-grade students of SMA PGRI 1 Pati in academic year 2022//2023 before and after being taught by using tongue twister on instagram. The degree of freedom (df) 31 in the level of significance 0.05 with the t (table) ± 2.040and t (obtained) 13.145. So, the null hypothesis is rejected because t (obtained) is higher than t (table). The result of this research showed that there is a significant difference between English Pronunciation ability to the eleventh-grade students of SMA PGRI 1 Pati in academic year 20222023 before and after being taught by using tongue twister on Instagram. In other words, tongue twisters are able to improve the achievement of pronunciation abilities to the eleventh-grade XIPA 4 SMA PGRI 1 Pati in academic year 2022/2023.
