Abstrak

In Online learning class, when doing public speaking class using zoom, some students had difficulties in process learning, specifically the difficulties on linguistic factor and Non-Linguistic factor. They need to overcome it by solving solutions to avoid mistakes in using zoom as a learning platform for public speaking class. Based on the research problem, the objective are to found the students’ difficulties and to describe the strategies to solve the students’ difficulties in Using Zoom as a learning platform for Public Speaking class. The method of this research is qualitative with case study. The source data were collected from 20 students who take public speaking class with use close-ended questionnaire, and interview. The result of this research describe if the students still faced difficulties in doing public speaking using zoom, specifically facing difficulty based on two kind factors, linguistic and Non-Linguistic factors. The students’ have several obstacles and difficulties, one of which is the unstable connection factor and unsupported tools for learning public speaking using Zoom. To solve difficulties, the students had various kinds of strategies but most of them tried to solve it students always prepare their devices, and maintain or improve their connections to keep them in good condition for the smooth learning of public speaking using zoom. Hopefully, this research will be beneficial to the students, lecturer and future researcher. After reading this research, students know difficulties faced by students in Using Zoom as a Learning Platform for Public Speaking Class. The lecturer can give students some practice methods for students in doing public speaking using zoom. And for the future researcher hoped use this research as a references. The purpose of this research is to find out the students difficulties in using zoom as a learning platform for public speaking class and to know the strategies they solve the difficulties.
