Abstrak

This study aims to formulate physical and mental structures and reveal hermeneutic codes, semimic or connotative codes, symbolic codes, prophetic codes, and cultural or cultural codes based on Roland Barthes’ theory. This research is qualitative by using a semiotic analysis method based on the theory of Roland Barthes. The poem “Ibu” has a physical structure in the form of diction, imagination or imagery, concrete words, the figure of speech or figurative language, verification, and typography. The inner structure has a theme (sense), feeling, tone, atmosphere, and message. It shows that the poem “Ibu” has strength in both physical and mental elements. Based on Roland Barthes’s semiotics, a hermeneutic code, a semimic or connotative code, a symbolic code, a prophetic code, a prophetic code, and a cultural or cultural code are discovered after analyzing the poem “Ibu.”
