Abstrak

Communication means delivering messages directly or speaking to deliver something such as the material. Language accuracy is the one of important aspect that communication going on (the use of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation). In addition to language accuracy, the term fluency which is defined as the ability to use the language quickly and confidently without too much hesitations or too many unnatural pauses to cause barriers in communication (Bailey, 2003; Byrne, 1986). This research was conducted at the EED UMK, specifically for freshmen in academic year 2021/2022. The purpose of this research were to investigated freshmen perceptions of a lecturer's communication skills on language accuracy and fluency aspects in online learning. This research was qualitative research and used the questionnaire and interview to collect the data. The questionnaire was given to 40 freshmen and 5 freshmen were interviewed to obtain the data administered to EED UMK. The findings of this research stated: The freshmen perception toward lecturer’s communication skill on language accuracy aspect in online learning categorized as positive perception and for the freshmen’s perception toward the lecturer’s communication skill on fluency aspect in online learning also categorized as positive perception.
