Abstrak

As English had been known as the biggest international language, mastering English is necessary. Realizing the importance of English, people learn how to master English well. Yet, in the EFL setting, the mastering is rather difficult due to the students are difficult to practice the target language outside the classroom even though they communicate English as a media in teaching learning process. One of the biggest reasons of the difficulty of the practicing is the lack of media towards practicing the target language. This research aims to enhance the English interaction toward English mastery by utilizing a social media fanpage as Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC)’s tool named by SSF (Second Semester Forum). By utilizing this media, the researcher hopes that the students can practice their English beyond the classroom even though they are physically separated. This study uses an Action Research design. The design consists of two cycle representing eleven phases suggested by Burns (1999). The subject is the students of class C of Intermediate Speaking class by the total 28 students. The research findings show that there was good enhancement of English interaction by the online media. It is proven by the level of participation in the first cycle was 35% for commenting and 32% for posting. In the second cycle the interaction was good by the percentage 85% commenting and 75% posting. Based on those results, the researcher suggests to the teacher or lecturer and every stake holders in the field of English education to provide a media such as SSF to help the students in mastering the target language by doing interaction in and outside the classroom by using the target language
