Abstrak

Blind children with disabilities expression a form of objects in everyday life. It takes an integrated approach to learning to provide a stimulus through the medium of clay. The purpose of this study help blind children use capabilities sensibility with rational and emotional balance to establish the values of its character. Character values obtained from blind children 's behavior and responses of students as a whole in thematic learning using outstanding educational curriculum. The date obtained from observations, interviews and documentation are selected later described becoming an accurate conclusion. Actually the character values of blind children through the application of methods and media appropriate to the learning needs better than normal children. Sensitivity of smell, touch, sight and hearing are intensely confined into a concept for designing thematic learning. From a thematic lesson plan guidelines produce three-dimensional works using the medium of clay. Results of thematic learning using clay medium for blind children have a critical attitude towards the environment, the spirit of learning, to appreciate its limitations, independent in action, and creative based sensory sensitivity capabilities. Continuity of learning models for blind children need for the training of classroom teachers in an effort to improve the learning outcomes of children with special needs.
