Abstrak

Any demands of right equality between female and male are getting higher. The discussion about gender equality gets enough attention, in the women itself and the men. This movement is known as feminism. Literary world, as a creativity world couldn’t be separated from this movement. A novel as a literary work is the reflection from society. The novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban is a reflection of women’s struggle in breaking the stigma which developing in public that women’s position is as a complementary part. Women are placed in a weak position, the duty of women is on domestic field, women may not initiate anything, etc. But the author of the book, exactly capturing the reader that the women inferiority is revealing a demand and rebellion which eventually raise a breakthrough in struggling their rights to be put in a row with the men. Thus, the equality between female and male will be realized, “the women are holding the men’s hand into heaven”, not “get into heaven follows, get into hell taken”.
