Abstrak

This thesis entitled "THE ROLE OF THE PATI DISTRICT LAND OFFICE IN MEDIATION OF LAND DISPUTES" generally aims: 1.) To determine the role of the Pati Regency Land Office in Mediating Land Disputes. 2.) Knowing the obstacles and efforts of the Pati Regency Land Office in Mediating Land Disputes This thesis uses empirical juridical research methods with analytical descriptive research specifications. The method for determining the sample is purposive sampling. The data collection method uses primary data and secondary data, which are then examined, processed and analyzed qualitatively, then prepared as a scientific thesis. Based on research results, the role of the Pati Regency Land Office in resolving land disputes and conflicts is as a facilitator and mediator. The facilitator brings together the two parties to hold discussions to achieve certain goals, while the mediator focuses on helping the parties reach an agreement. The success rate of land dispute mediation at the Pati Regency Land Office tends to fluctuate due to various factors, namely the absence of the parties, parties who are still emotional during the mediation process and the presence of third parties. Apart from that, there are factors that influence the success of mediation, namely the good faith of the parties and the quality of the mediator. The Pati Regency Land Office is also making efforts to prevent the high number of reports of land disputes by conducting socialization on the handling of land disputes by presenting resource persons from the prosecutor's office, police and courts. .
