                    Abstrak

                    English as one of the Interanational language is very important as a mean of communication. The students are necesarry to master four language skills i.e. listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This program is begun from the fourth to sixth grade, with the based aim is to facilitate the student in order to be ready and self-confident is learning English at the higher levels of education Vocabulary is one of the basic language components that is important to be learned as well as grammar and pronunciation. It supports the mastery of all language skills. As English is the first foreign language learned by elementary school student, thus it is important to make them to be able to figure out meanings, even help them to develop their language acquisition. Pelmanism is an card game. The aim is to exercise the memory. As it is not easy to memorize a new word. The objective of the research is to find out if there is a significant difference between the English Vocabulary Mastery of the Fifth Grade Students of MI Mafatihul Huda Rau Kedung Jepara in the Academic Year 2013/2014 Taugt by Using Pelmanism Medium. The subject of this research is the fifth grade students of MI Mafatihul Huda Rau Kedung Jepara in the academic year 2013/2014 consist of 31 students. The design of this research was experimental research. The result of this research showed that the English vocabulary mastery of the fifth grade students of MI Mafatihul Huda Rau Kedung Jepara in the academic year 2013/2014 before being taught by using pelmanism medium is categorized sufficient. The score of mean and standard deviation are 64.83 and 11.35. Meanwhile, the English vocabulary mastery of the fifth grade students of MI Mafatihul Huda Rau Kedung Jepara in the academic year 2013/2014 after being taught by using pelmanism medium is categorized good. The score of mean and standard deviation are 74.25 and 9.86. So, the calculation of t-observation (to) get results 4.70 in the level significant 0.05 and degree of freedom (df) 30 which is gained from N-1= 31-1=30, the t (critical) is 2.04. It means that there is a significant difference between the English vocabulary mastery of the fifth grade students of MI Mafatihul Huda Rau Kedung Jepara in the academic year 2013/2014 before and after being taught by using pelmanism medium Based on the result above, it means that pelmanism medium work well to develop student’s vocabulary. Therefore, the English teacher can apply pelmanism as medium make students active and doesn’t make the students feel bored in teaching process.
