Abstrak

Veranica, Ayu. 2013 The Effectivenes of Facebook Wall to Improve The Ability in Writing Recount Text of Tenth Grade Students of MA NU BANAT Kudus in Academic Year 2013/2014. Skripsi. English Education Department, Teaching Training and Education Faculty, Muria Kudus University. Advisor (i) Drs. Suprihadi, M.Pd (ii) Nuraeningsih, S.Pd, M.Pd Keywords : Writing, Recount text, Facebook wall Writing is representation of language in written form. This skill requires students for giving attention how text organized correctly. It concludes how to use media In teaching. Students could learn their material easily through appropriate media. The writer take Facebook wall as alternative media because it could give contribution for students in composing text. This media give chance to the students to use new media in learning. The objective of this research is to find out whether there is significant difference between the writing ability in recount text of the tenth grade students of MA NU BANAT Kudus in academic year 2013/2014 before and after taught by using Facebook wall. The design of this research is Experimental Research. This research took place at MA NU BANAT Kudus. The subjects of the research are the tenth grade students of MA NU BANAT Kudus with sample of this research is 27 students from class XUI. The writer gave writing recount text test to measure the students ability in writing recount text. All of the students are given pretest which is given before using Facebook wall as media and after they got the treatment, the writer continues giving post-test. The result of this research shows that the writing ability in recount text of the tenth grade students of MA NU BANAT Kudus in academic year 2013/2014 before taught by using Facebook wall is categorized sufficient. The score of Mean and Standard Deviation are 62 and 9.20. Meanwhile, the writing ability in recount text of the tenth grade students of MA NU BANAT Kudus in academic year 2013/2014 after taught by using Facebook wall is categorized good. The score of Mean and Standard Deviation are 79.6 and 5.85. the calculation of t-test gets result 9.10 and in the level of significance 0.05 and the degree of freedom (df) 26 which is gained N-1, t-table is 2.06. Based on the result above, It is concluded that there is a significant difference between the writing ability in recount text of the tenth grade students of MA NU BANAT Kudus in academic year 2013/2014 before and after taught by using Facebook wall. The writer suggests that Facebook wall is interesting media in teaching English. It is also as a consideration for the teacher to use Facebook wall as media in teaching writing. Therefore, students could assumes that writing English text is not difficult if use appropriate technique, method even media in learning.
