Abstrak

Improving fluent reading skill and complete gaps story through Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model Theme Daily Activities of the 2nd grade students of SD 4 Karang Malang Kudus in academic year 2012/2013. Skripsi. Elementary Teacher Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Muria Kudus University. Advisors: (i) Dr. Murtono, M.Pd., (ii) Eka Zuliana, S.Pd, M.Pd. Keywords: Fluent Reading Skill, Complete gaps story, Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model Indonesian Language has been started taught in Elementary school whether in lower class (1, 2, 3) and upper class (4, 5, 6). From forth linguistic aspect are listening, speaking, reading and writing, writing aspect is the most complex linguistic skill. The statement of the problems of this research are: (1) How is the using of jigsaw cooperative learning model for reading skill learning process? (2) Is there any reading skill improvement in completing gaps story Indonesian Language with the used of jigsaw cooperative learning model? The Objective of the research are: (1) To describe the using of the jigsaw cooperative learning model for reading skill. (2) To find the reading skill improvement in completing gaps story with the used of jigsaw cooperative learning model. Reading is the process which doing and using by the reader to get the message, that is going to explained by the writer through the words, or written language. Jigsaw cooperative learning model instructs the students to have group discussion, which consists of the ordinary group and the expert one then the outcome of the discussion will be presented in front of the class. With this method the students will mixed up actively in learning process, easy to memorize and might be applied in daily life problems. This research is Classroom action research which aim to improve the outcome of the theme daily activities of the 2nd grade student of SD 4 Karang Malang Kudus in academic year 2012/2013. The subject of this research are 9 students (consists of 4 males and 5 females). The method of collected data included interview and observation used to know the school and students condition before the action of the research. The research has done in 2 cycles and every cycle consists of 2 meetings. Every cycle consists of 4 steps: planning, acting, observing and reflecting. There are 2 variables in this research, they are: dependent and independent variables. The technique of collecting data through the test, observation and documentation. The data is analyzed by using the analysis of qualitative and quantitative method.
