Abstrak

The effectiveness of teaching and learning process can be influenced by many factors. One of them is classroom management used by the English teacher when teaching in the class. Most of teachers know how to manage class. Practically, the learning process sometimes is still not effective. So, the writer wants to know how is classroom management used by the English teacher in the eleventh grade language programme class of SMA 1 Jekulo Kudus in academic year 2013/2014 and what are the classroom management problems experienced by the English teacher in the eleventh grade language programme class of SMA 1 Jekulo Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. The objectives of this research are to describe the classroom management used by the English teacher in the eleventh grade language programme class of SMA 1 Jekulo Kudus in academic year 2013/2014 and to find out the classroom management problems experienced by the English teacher in the eleventh grade language programme class of SMA 1 Jekulo Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. The descriptive qualitative research is used in this research. Then, the data used in this research is classroom management used by the English teacher in the eleventh grade language programme class of SMA 1 Jekulo Kudus in academic year 2013/2014 and the data source are from the observation result of the situation and condition in the eleventh grade language programme class and also questionnaire that is distributed to the English teacher. From data analysis, the writer concludes that the classroom management used by the English teacher in the eleventh grade language programme class is not optimal yet. Because there is aspect of classroom management by the English teacher does not optimally used. So, the classroom management in class does not run well. Therefore, the writer suggests that for the English teacher in the eleventh grade language programme class can apply and use classroom management in their teaching practice. So, the teacher can get students’ participation in teaching learning process. Then, for the students can seriously to do the task and can prepare the material of teaching first before the teacher teach.
