                    Abstrak

                    Grammar is the scientifiec study of the form and arrangement of word, phrases, and sentences. Because grammar as the integral part of the language so mastering grammar is the learners’ necessity. There is no doubt that every learner must master grammar well. In MA NU TBS Kudus the students do not really care about English. They sometimes do not pay attention because they think that English is not important as Arabic and they think English is difficult. As the students who have the islamic background, they easily understand the nahwu (grammar arabic), but most of them do not like English, moreover grammar. Actually grammar and nahwu have the similiarities. As the students in islamic high school that mastering nahwu, the writer assumed that it will be easy to the students to mastering grammar. The students must proud about that, because they will be more understanding about English by knowing the similiarities between grammar and nahwu. The students can mastery grammar by knowing the similiarities between grammar and nahwu. Here, the writer wants to recheck the significant correlation between the mastery of grammar and nahwu of the eleventh grade students of MA NU TBS Kudus in academic year 2014/2015. The objective of this research is: to find out whether there is a significant correlation between the mastery of grammar and nahwu of the eleventh grade student of MA NU TBS Kudus in academic year 2014/2015. The method of this research is correlation design. The population is the eleventh grade students in language class’s (XI C) of MA NU TBS Kudus in academic year 2014/2015. The researcher gave the multiple choice grammar and nahwu mastery test to the students. After giving score, the researcher calculating and giving interpretation. The researcher analyzed the data by using Correlation Product Moment Formula. The result shows that there is a significant correlation between the mastery of grammar and nahwu of the eleventh grade students of MA NU TBS Kudus in academic year 2014/2015. It based on the result of the calculation which has explained in Appendix 10 that rxy (coefficient correlation) is 0.47. It is categorized enough correlation. Based on the result above, the writer would like to give suggestion as; (1) For the teachers, the teachers who have the islamic background can teach grammar by showing the similiarities material between grammar and nahwu, (2) For the readers, the writer hopes the readers have motivation to learning grammar and nahwu. And the reader or further writer they can improve or innovate with similar topic
