Abstrak

Based on the observation is done in SD 4 Jekulo by the researcher, the learning is done by the teacher are still using conventional learning makes students passive in learning. The activity becomes less than optimal student learning. The average score of mathematics learning activity as a whole was 1.81 with a category quite well. The lowest average scores are shown on the learning activities of students answering questions with a score of 1.46 with unfavorable category and the highest average scores shown in asking questions and learning activities with a score of 2.10 with a category quite well. Therefore, researchers take corrective action by applying the learning role playing so that students can be more active in learning activities and the average score of students' learning activity can be increased. The problem of this study is "Is learning model can improve the activity of role playing fifth grade students learn mathematics of second semester of the material fractions in SD 4 Jekulo?". The purpose of this research is to determine how much of the increased activity of elementary school students of class V 4 Jekulo with the implementation of role playing on learning the material fractions. The activity of the students is they like to play in learning process, make students learning activity to be low. So, they need improvement in the learning that fun and can give contribute students learning activity to be better. In the learning and can give contribute students activities learning is use role playing learning. Learning is a role playing game that aims to encourage the movement of student learning activities to explore feelings, acquire the information, skills and explore the attitudes of subjects studied. The step in role play learning are; make scenario, choose participant, make group, explain the competition, participate, observation, judge, resume from the students, conclusion and evaluation in general. Kind of this study is classroom action research that kinds of two cycle and held for four types, they are; planning, acting, observing and reflecting with application role play learning. The subjects were students and fifth grade elementary school teacher 4 Jekulo which has 39 students consists of 19 male students and 20 female students. The Data of collection techniques such as interviews, observations, tests, documentation and field notes. Research instrument using sheets of observation sheets, interviews, test, documentation and field notes. While the data analysis technique used is quantitative data and qualitative data. The results showed an average activity of student learning first cycle of 2.27 with the criteria quite well, increased in the second cycle amounted to 2.82 with both criteria. The average of teachers teaching skills first cycle of 2.77 with the criterion well be increased in the second cycle of 3.32 with the criteria very well. Thoroughness of student learning achievement first cycle reaches an average of 74.23 with classical completeness 71.79% and increased in the second cycle becomes 78.71 with classical completeness 82.05%. The results of this study indicate that the role-playing application of learning can improve students' mathematics learning activities on fractions material in SD 4 Jekulo. The conclusions of this research is to use role-playing learning can improve student learning activities, teachers' teaching skills and student learning outcomes in the material fractions. Suggestions in this research for the students are expected to be more courage us and self confident in a role and send the response. For the teacher should prepare appropriate scenario text and according to students’ daily lives. For the schools should give opportunities and support for the teacher in role play model learning by providing facilities and learning media surtable with role playing learning that will be implemented. For the next reseacher are expected can combine and develop role playing learning model design who the reseacher makes with various of fun learning.
