                    Abstrak

                    This research is motivated of findings of low result of study of the fourth grade students of SD 2 Sidorekso Kudus in Social Studies. This is due to some problems that is teacher-centered learning and not the implementation of an innovative Learning Model. Learning Model Picture and Picture can improve the students' result of the study in Social Studies. The objective of the research are (1) To describe the students’ improvement of the result of study in Social Studies through learning model picture and picture of the fourth grade students of SD 2 Sidorekso Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. (2) To describe the activity of students in Social Studies through learning model picture and picture of the fourth grade of SD 2 Sidorekso Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. (3) To describe the skills of teacher through learning model picture and picture of the fourth grade students of SD 2 Sidorekso Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. Picture and picture learning model is a model where teacher uses the picture media that are paired or sorted into a logical sequence to describe a material or facilitate students to be active. Social problems in society are a condition of abnormal or inappropriate. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles of applying learning model picture and picture in Social Studies material with step of CAR: (1) planning, (2) implementation of the action, (3) observation and (4) reflection. The instruments of collecting data used are in the form of observation, testing, and documentation. The technique of analyzing data is qualitative and quantitative. The results of this research show that the learning model picture and picture can improve student learning outcomes in Social Studies of the fourth grade students of SD 2 Sidorekso Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. This is evidenced by an increase in the result of study. In the early conditions of students who completed only 16 students 57.14% with the criteria of "sufficient". After the act, in the first cycle, the mastery learning students increased to 19 students 67.86% with the criteria of "high". In cycle II, the mastery learning students increased to 25 students 89.29% with the criteria of "very high". The results of observation of individual student activity cycle I reached the percentage 58.34% with criteria of "sufficient" and the second cycle increased to 68.21% with the criteria of "good". The results of the first cycle of observation group activity reached 61.25% with the criteria of "sufficient" and the second cycle increased to 88.33% with the criteria of "very good". The results of the management of learning by the teacher to reach 70% by the criteria of "good" and an increase in cycle II to 88.75% with the criteria of "very good". Conclusions of this research is the application of learning models picture and picture can improve the skills of teachers, student activities, and student learning outcomes in Social Studies of the fourth grade students of SD 2 Sidorekso Kudus in academic Year 2013/2014. Suggestions for teacher, expected learning model picture and picture can be a reference in improving the activity and student learning outcomes. Advice for students, are expected to foster the spirit of cooperation and direct involvement in learning. Advice for school should provide facilities and learning resources that are adequate to support the quality of learning.
