Abstrak

Based on observation in SD 1 Mlati Kidul Kudus the researcher found some problems, there were the fourth grade students had low scores in social studies. This problem was caused by the lowness of student activity and and the teacher’s teaching skill variation was less. Based on this classroom action research, the researchers provide the solution by using TGT model aided powerpoint. The purpose of this classroom action research are (1) to know there is improvement in the result of students learning throught TGT model aided powerpoint in social studies learning, (2) to describe the improvement of student learning activity throught TGT model aided powerpoint in social studies learning, (3) to explain the improvement of teacher’s skill throught TGT learning model aided powerpoint in social studies learning. TGT learning model which is one of cooperative learning type by placing students into learning groups, one group consist of 4 until 5 students. There are an academic games in the learning process.The Learning type Teams Games Tournament step consist of (1) Presentation of the class; (2) Learning in the group; (3) The academic games; and (4) Team Recognition. The result of the study are expexcted to social studies is increasing the result of study that includes cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. This classroom action research used Kemmis and Tagart model, which consist of four phases namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. This research was conducted in two cycles, one cycle of 2 meetings. The subject of this research is the fourth grade students of SD 1 Mlati Kidul Kudus. Total of student is 23 students consist of 9 male students and 14 female students. The variables of this research includes outcomes, students learning activity, and teacher’s skill in social studies learning. Data collection techniques that is used are observation, interviews, documentation, and testing techniques. Test technique is used to see the results of students cognitive learning after the action. The observation result were analyzed by qualitative data analysis techniques and cognitive learning outcomes of students were analyzed by quantitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that the implementation of TGT model aided powerpoint can improve the learning outcomes IPS in fourth grade students of SD 1 Mlati Kidul Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. The percentage of completeness the results of classical learning in the second cycle increased from the initial conditions before the study was 34.78% became 73.91% in the first cycle, and 73.91% increased became 91.30% in the second cycle. The percentage of students learning attitudes increased from 60.02% in the first cycle to 73.68% in the second cycle. The percentage of students' learning skills increased from 62.61% in the first cycle to 74.46% in the second cycle. The percentage increase student learning activities from 60.15% in the first cycle to 72.29% in the second cycle. While the percentage of teacher’s skills was 78% in the first cycle to 88.5% in the second cycle. Based on this classroom action research, can be conclude that the TGT model aided powerpoint can improve the result learning, the learning activities of students and teacher’s skill in social studies learning. Based on that conclusion, the researcher suggested to the teachers can develop a model of TGT in learning, process as well subjects or other material. For further researcher is expected to innovate TGT model with other media or with other models that can support for the learning process as well as possible.
