Abstrak
This study investigated whether games affected the effectiveness of grammar learning and made students autonomus learners. It was an experimental research using post test-only control group with two groups of participants undertaking a test. One group had games in the background and the second had no games. The participants were students taking grammar 3. It was hypothesized that there would be significant differences of student’s performance in learning grammar between games and no games. The result showed that the games group performed slightly better than no games group although both did not give good mark. It was shown in this research the uses of games supported the students to study, practice, and review the grammar material autonomously.
