                      Abstrak

                      Ideally, undergraduate students finish their studies in four years, but based on preliminary study, the eighth semester students of English Education Department of Muria Kudus University in academic year 2015/2016 who enrolled in skripsi program are 138 students, but only 50 students who finish their skripsi in their fourth year. The delay of their graduations are commonly because they haven’t done their skripsi yet. This research was held to know the students’ problems in writing skripsi and the dominant problem faced by the eight semester students of English Education Department of Muria Kudus University in the academic year 2015/2016. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. This research was done in English Eduction Department of Muria Kudus University with the eighth semester students of EED in academic year 2015/2016 as the data source. The data were collected from interviews with 21 respondents of the data source. The result of the study shows that students problems in writing skripsi based on the internal factor: psychological problems or affective such as laziness and stress, academic problems or problems related to cognitive and how to write the skripsi, and physiological problem such as tired after other activities. External problem: problems related to social environment such as students have other activities and family problems, problems related to media in writing skripsi or facilities such as problems with computer and difficulties in finding references, and problems related to consultation with their advisor such as difficulties to meet the advisors and communication problems. Based on the finding above, the researcher conclude that the dominant problems of the students in writing skripsi is psychological problems or affective. Based on the finding, the writer suggests the students to take a skripsi title based on their interests and academic capabilities to minimalize internal problems that make them stop writing their skripsi. The students should focus on their skripsi.
