Abstrak
Mathematical communication of SD N 4 Bae is included as poor criteria with the mean of classical scores 57,44. While the mathematical anxiety of the students classically known as high criteria anxiety with the percentage 69,4%. Therefore this research aimed to describe how many the improvement of mathematical communication, decreased mathematical anxiety and also teacher’s teaching skill in organizing the learning activity of mathematic thorugh think talk write model by using geoboard media. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) which in SD N 4 Bae, the second semester in academic year 2017/2018. The subject of this research are the researcher as the teacher and 18 students of the fourth grade of SD N 4 Bae. The research is conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four steps that included planning, action, observation and reflection. The independent variable is think talk write model by using geoboard media, while the dependent variable includes mathematical communication, mathematical anxiety and the teacher’s teaching skill. The data collection technique that is used by the researcher is interview, documentation, observation and questionnaire. Then the data would be analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The result of this research showed that (1) the mathematical communication of the students in cycle I got the mean of classical scores 63,41 as fair criteria and improved to 80,57 in cycle II as good criteria, (2) the mathematical anxiety of the students in cycle I got the classical percentage 54,6% as moderate criteria and then it decreased to 42,1% in cycle II as poor criteria, (3) the teacher’s teaching skill in cycle I got the mean score 3,17 as good criteria and it improved to 3,42 as excellent criteria. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the use of think talk write model by using geoboard media can improve the mathematical communication, decrease the mathematical anxiety and it also improve the teacher’s teaching skill in organizing the learning activity with the material about the perimeter and the wide plain. Moreover, the mathematic learning by applying think talk write model by using geoboard media can be the alternative solution to solve the problem especially about the mathematical communication and also the mathematical anxiety.
