Abstrak

Monotonous and conventional learning process using lecture method effect student learning achievement become low. This is evidenced by the fact that encountered in SDN 1 Daren. Their student learning achievement is low. It’s showed from 21 students only 11 students are competent (52.38%) and 10 students (47.62%) aren’t competent. This study aims to obtain an increase student’s Mathematics learning achievementwith the implementation of Think Pair Share learning model in the fourth grade SDN 1 Daren school 2013/2014. Mathematics learning achievement are student achievement that result changing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities. Think Pair Share learning model is the way presenting the lesson which students are invited to discuss in pairs to solve the problems posed. The learning process is done by providing opportunities for students to think independently and also in groups. The hypothesis proposed is the use of Think Pair Share learning model improves Mathematics learning achievementinfourth grade students SDN 1 Daren 2013/2014. Classroom action research was conducted in SDN 1 Daren Jepara. Subjects of this research are fourth grade students totaled 21 students. This study takes place two cycles, for each cycle consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The independent variable of this study wasaThink Pair Share learning modelusing fractional block media.The dependent variable of this study is student’s Mathematics learning achievement in fourth grade SDN 1 Daren. The data collection techniques in this study include interviews, observation, testing and documentation. The instruments used in this study include interview, observation sheets, and achievement test while data analysis techniques include quantitative and qualitative. The result of this study isthe increase of significant classical learning masteryin fraction materials than the initial condition (52.38%), cycle I (71.43%), and the second cycle (90.48%). Improving of learning achievement is also supported by an increase of the student activities and teacher learning management. Learning activities of students has increased from an average percentage of learning mastery for first cycle 76.57% (excellent) to 83.44% (excellent) on the second cycle. The management of teacher learning using Think Pair Share learning model has increased from an average percentage of 73.53% for first cycle (good) to 88.23% (excellent) on the second cycle. Based on the results of classroom action research conducted can be concluded that the use of Think Pair Share learning model improve Mathematics learning achievementin fourth grade students SDN 1 Daren. It is recommended to apply the Think Pair Share learning model as one alternative learning model to improve learning achievement and student learning activities.
