Abstrak

Monotonous and teacher-oriented learning process through lecturing lead to low achievements of students under minimum passing grade. This research has purpose to describe the improvements of teacher skills and fifth graders’ mathematics achievements of Kalipucang Wetan 6 Elementary School by implementing Course Review Hurray model aided by Pop Up media. It was a classroom action research done in Kalipucang Wetan 6 Primary School with fifth graders as the subjects and teacher as the researcher for 2 cycles started from planning, acting, observing, and documenting stages. Instrument validation using expert judgment. The data analysis were qualitative and quantitative. The findings showed improvement of learning mathematics on cognitive and skill aspects under net of cube and rod material. On cognitive aspect in cycle I, it was gained 62% and cycle II 83%. On aspect of skill in cycle I, it was gained 65% then cycle Ii 86%. Teacher skill in managing class improved from cycle I 79.5% into 91.5% in cycle II. It can be concluded that the implementation of Course Review Hurray model aided by Pop Up media could improve mathematics learning achievement of cognitive and skill aspects of fifth graders of Kalipucang Wetan 6 Primary School and teacher-teaching skill. It is suggested for teacher to apply Course Review Hurray model with adjusted media to the materials so students can understand and comprehend the material well.
