Abstrak

Job satisfaction and performance on offshore oil and gas workers in East Kalimantan requires improvement along with the failure to achieve targets for Occupational Health and Safety (K3), discrepancies between the performance produced with agreed work contracts, and increasing turnover rates for offshore oil and gas workers in East Kalimantan . These problems are due to the influence of transactional leadership, non-physical work environment, and compensation received by workers. These offshore oil and gas workers in East Kalimantan are spread in three Accommodation and Working Barges (AWBs) or barges, namely AWB Fiore, AWB Logindo Radiance, and AWB ASL Offshore-1 and work in the same oil and gas company The population in this study was 184 workers consist of 64 workers at AWB Fiore, 58 workers at AWB Logindo Radiance, and 62 workers at the AWB ASL-Offshore-1. Slovin formula is used to get a sample of 126 workers. The method of data collection uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale and the data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The conclusion of this study shows that transactional leadership has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and on employee performance. The non-physical work environment has a positive and significant influence on job satisfaction and the performance of offshore oil and gas workers. Compensation has a positive and significant influence on job satisfaction and employee performance. Job satisfaction also has a positive and significant influence on employee performance
