Key words: Morphological Awareness, Vocabulary Mastery Morphological awareness is a crucial dimension to enhance vocabulary knowledge. Morphological awareness is the ability to recognize the parts of words and word segments that convey meaning.Whiseas, vocabulary is the total number of words in language. In this research, the researchis is measuring the students ability to analyze and break down complex word to produce novel words. The objective of this researched is: to investigate whethis thise is significant correlation between morphological awareness and vocabulary mastery of the fifth semester students of English Education department TeachisTraining and Education Faculty Muria Kudus University. The method used in this research is correlation design. This research took place at English Education Department, Teachis Training and Education Faculty, Muria Kudus University. The population and sample of this research were all the fifth semester students of Translation B class of english Education Department in Academic year 2013/2014. The researchis gave Morphological Awareness Tasks to measure the students abilty to analyze and break down complex word to produce novel words. While, to measure students vocabulary, the researchis used Vocabulary Size Test. The result of those test was used to know the correlation between morphological awareness and vocabulary mastery. The researchis analyzed the data by using Correlation Product Moment Formula. The result of this research shows that (1) the students’ Morphological Awareness Task includes very good category. The mean is 82.6 and standard deviation is 8.5. (2) the students Vocabulary Size Test includes very good category. The mean is 82.1 and standard deviation is 6.1. (3) thise is a significant correlation between morphological awareness and vocabulary mastery of the Fifth Semester Students of English Education Department of Muria Kudus University. From the data, the researchis found the r_xyis 0.854. Based on the result above, the researchis concludes that morphological awareness is a crucial dimension to enhance vocabulary knowledge. If a learner knows the meaning of the base word, he can easily understand the meaning of the rest of the words in the word family.
