Abstrak

Background of this research is learning process teacher centered, by using communicative method, student commit to memory of the material, the student not involve to find the knowledge himself, so it cause the student passive in learning process. Sometimes, the teacher ask to the student without giving the chance to ask and to find the idea. It cause the student difficult to understand the learning material, so learning achievement of science study by the student is low. The purpose of this research is (1) to know the increase of science learning achievement with material characteristic of light by using inquiry learning model to the student class V SD 1 Loram Kulon, (2) to khow the increase of stundent learning activity by using inquiry learning model in science material characteristic of light in the class V SD 1 Loram Kulon, and (3) to describe the increase of the teacher activity by using inquiry learning model in science material characteristic of light in the class V SD 1 Loram Kulon. Inkuiri is the learning method to find the fission of the problem by using critical, analysis, and scientific to get the certain conclusion wich supported by data. Achievement is the result of learning which got by the students as evidence of success in the teaching and learning process. This research using the action class method research. The subject of this research is the student Class V SD 1 Loram Kulon with the total 17 Students. This research done two cycles. Every cycles consist of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Independent variable is the inquiry learning model and dependent variable is science learning achievement. To get the data of this research by doing the test and observation. Getting the data consist of the result of the test evaluation, student learning activity, and teacher activity. Result of the research can increase the performance of studying science by the student with material characteristic of light. It is have significant enough between 1st cycle and 2nd cycle. Completely of the classical learning by the student 1st cycle (59%) and 2nd cycle (88%), this is support with the increase of the student learning activity in 1st cycle 66,21% (good) and the 2nd cycle 81,41% (good). Teacher activity have increase in 1st cycle 66,30% (good) and 2nd cycle 83,15% (good). The conclusion Based on the result of this research by using inquiry learning model can increase the performance of studying science material characteristic light student class V SD 1 Loram Kulon. It is suggest in using inquiry learning model, the teacher should give the freedom to think for her student by asking the questions and to give the chance to find the idea with open mind so can increase the ability to scientific think.
