Abstrak

This research is motivated by lowing results of Social Studies at the fourth grade students of SDN 1 Karangbener. This problem is caused by teachers who are still using conventional teaching methods. Purposes of this action research are 1) improving student learning at the fourth grade students of SDN 1 Karangbener, District of Bae, Kudus Regency, Academic Year 2013 / 2014 Social Studies subject by applying learning model think pair share type with video assisted learning. 2) improving the skills of teachers in teaching Social Studies by applying learning model think pair share type with video assisted learning in Social Studies teaching. This research is a class action using Kemmis and Mc Taggart’s PTK design. This research was done in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. Each cycle through four steps: planning, action, observation and reflection. Research subject is the fourth grade students of SDN 1 Karangbener with the number of students are 10 people. Collecting data method that used were observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Analyzing data method at this class action that used were quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The research results showed that by applying learning model Think Pair Share on Social Studies learning, may: (1) improve the student’s learning outcomes, at pre cycle showed an average value of 60 with classical completeness 20%, at first cycle showed an average value of 65 with classical completeness 40%, at second cycle students' learning result in Social Studies subject showed improvement with an average value of 74 and 80% classical completeness. The results of the affective domain of student learning at first cycle gained an average score of 62.35% with a sufficient criteria, increased in second cycle to 76.72% with good criteria. Psychomotor domains of student’s learning outcomes at first cycle reached an average score of 65% with good criteria, increased in the second cycle to 75% which still in good criteria. Skills of teachers in the first cycle rached an average score 84.09% with good criteria, increased in second cycle to 88.63% with very good criteria, (2) observation about the teacheris skill in the management of learning at first cycle got a percentage of 77.26% with the criteria of "good" and increased in second cycle to 88.63% with the criteria of "very good." The conclusions of this research is by implementing a learning model Think Pair Share with video assisted learning can improve student’s learning result in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor area, also the skill’s of teachers. Suggestions for this research are students should always pay attention to what the teacher’s teach and active in learning so the students' learning activities can be focused and the student’s learning can reach optimal result. Besides that, advice for teachers is teacher should implement innovative learning models, one of which is think pair share learning model with video assisted learning to the student learning outcomes can be improved.
