Abstrak

The background of this research is the process of teacher-centered learning, group discussions have not been able to run optimally, students have not been able to work together in groups, participation and responsibility among group members less, unequal division of labor, in this case the dominating group of students proficient consequently other members become passive. This is causing difficulty for the students to understand the learning materials so that the students learn science is low. The purpose of this research is (1) to know the improvementscience learning material light’s properties by using STAD learning model to the student class V SDN Dadirejo 02, (2) to describe the increase of stundent learning activity by using STAD learning model in science material light’s properties of class VSDN Dadirejo 02, and (3) to describe the increase of the teacher activity by using STAD learning model in science material light’s properties of class VSDN Dadirejo 02. STADis onetype ofcooperative learning modelwhichemphasizes on theactivitiesandinteractionamongstudents tomotivate each otherandhelp each othermaster the subject matterinorder toachievemaximumachievement. Studentslearn the materialin advancealongwithfriendsof thegroupthentheytested individuallythrough thequiz. Throughindividualquizstudentswillobtaina score ofdevelopment. Eachgroupwill getthe titleatthe end of thestudyin accordancewith the averagescore ofthe developmentgroup. This research using the action class method research. The subject of this research is the student Class V SDN Dadirejo 02 with the total 24 Students. This research done two cycles. Every cycles consist of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Independent Variable is the STAD learning model and dependent variable is sains learning achievement. To get the data of this research by doing the test and observation. Getting the data consist of the result of the test evaluation, student learning activity, and teacher activity. Result of the research can increase the performance of the studying naturescience by the student with the material light’s properties. It is have significant enough between 1st cycle and 2nd cycle . Completely of the classical learning by the student 1st cycle (70,83%) and 2nd cycle (88%), this is support with the increase of the student learning activity in 1st cycle 59,38% (Enough) and the 2nd cycle 79,08% (Good). Teacher activity have increase in 1st cycle 62% (Enough) and 2nd cycle 81% (Good). The conclusion based on the result of this research by using STAD learning model can improvethe performance of studying sains of material light’s properties student class V SDN Dadirejo 02. Fortheapplication ofthe modelsuggested inSTAD, the teachershouldprovide the opportunity forstudentsto issueopinions ingroup discussionsandactivitiesensureeachmember ofthe groupover matter.
