Abstrak

This background of the research is about the low learning achievement Mathematics of the fifth grade students of SD 4 Hadipolo in the academic Year. It is because the orientation of conventional teaching learning process that is used by the teacher gives influence to the low learning achievement Mathematics of the students. Therefore, by using Numbered Head Together, hopefully, it can improve learning achievement Mathematics of the students. The purpose of this research is to get improvement of learning achievement Mathematics with uniformity and symmetry as the material to the fifth grade students of SD 4 Hadipolo in the academic year 2013/2014. Learning achievement are the ability had by the students whether it affective ability, cognitive ability, and psychomotor ability that the students have after getting study experiences. Mathematics are exact knowledge and to the correct target. From it, we know that it cause discipline in thinking. The concept in Mathematics is not only to memorize but also must be understand through a thinking process and problem solving activity. Numbered Head Together (NHT) is a type of cooperative teaching learning process used number that is placed on the head, then teacher calls jumbled number from students to report the result of the discussion. Classroom action research was conducted in Hadipolo 4 Elementary School District of Kudus Jekulo especially in fifth grade school year 2013/2014. This research is an action research cycle model. This study was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of 2 meetings. Research design refers to the design of Kemmis and Mc Taggart which consists of four steps / stages, namely: (1) Planning, (2) Implementation of the action, (3) observation, (4) Reflection. The data collection techniques in this study include interviews, observation, testing and documentation. The instruments used in this study include interview, observation sheets, and achievement test while data analysis techniques include quantitative and qualitative. From the observation, the first result of the students before doing an action get 52% classical completeness with class average 72.88. Then, improve become 64% with class average 75.6 on the cycle I. On the cycle II, improve become 88% with class average 82.8. The activity of the student group on the cycle I get average 2.8 with good category and improve on the cycle II with average 3.48 with very good category. Beside that, the individual student activity on the cycle I get average 2.84 with good category and improve on the cycle II with average 3.45 with very good category. In addition, the management of teaching learning process on the circle I get average 3.08 with good category and improve on the cycle II with average 3.7 with very good category. The conclusion of this research is using Numbered Head Together as the method of the teaching to the fifth grade students of SD 4 Hadipolo in the academic year 2013/2014 can improve Mathematics learning achievement about uniformity and symmetry. The suggestion of this research is hopefully for the researcher can improve the research using Numbered Head Together, so the achievement of the students can increase.
