Abstrak

Classroom action research is motivated by the low of result learning social studies. This problem because teachers are still using conventional lecture learning model, teacher-centered learning process so activity students in social studies learning less. To improve student result learning required IPS appropriate learning models, one with implementing cooperative learning model make a match. The problem of this research are (1) how increase result learning of social studies through the application of cooperative learning model make a match of the fifth graders of second semester in SD 2 Purworejo Academic Year 2013/2014? (2) how an increase in teachers' skills in teaching social studies through the application of cooperative learning model make a match? The purpose of this research was (1) to describe the increase in result learning social studies of the fifth graders of second semester in SD 2 Purworejo Academic Year 2013/2014 through the implementation of cooperative learning model make a match. (2) to describe the increase of teachers' skills in teaching social studies through the application of cooperative learning model make a match. Cooperative learning model make a match means finding a partner. Each student gets a card (can be a matter or answer), then immediately look for a suitable partner with the cards he was holding. Result learning of social studies is achieved by students, attitudes and skills acquired after following the social studies activities by applying cooperative learning model make a match. Social studies is a selection of educational disciplines of the social sciences and humanities, as well as basic human activities that are organized and presented scientifically and psychologically for educational purposes. This research was conducted in SD 2 Purworejo Bae Kudus of the fifth graders of second semester Academic Year 2013/2014 with 17 students. The independent variable in this research is a cooperative learning model make a match and the dependent variable in this research is the result learning of social studies fifth grades of second semester in SD 2 Purworejo Academic Year 2013/2014. This classroom action research uses a Hopkins model, 1993. This research was conducted two cycles, each cycle through the four stages: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Initial conditions students before the act research showed an average value of 58.23 with a classical completeness 52.94% increase in the first cycle to 75.29 with classical completeness 70.58% and in the second cycle increased to 88.23 with classical completeness 100%. Student learning activities classical in the first cycle with average score of 2.52 with good categories increased in the second cycle becomes 3.32 with very good category. The mean score of teacher skills in the first cycle of 2.6 with good category and increased in the second cycle to 3.45 with very good category. Based on the results of this research can concluded that the use of cooperative learning model make a match proven to improve result learning social studies of the fifth graders of second semester in SD 2 Purworejo Bae Kudus. Suggestions presented in this research are (a) Students should take an active role in the learning process and always pay attention to what the teacher say, (b) the use of learning model Make A Match, teachers should adapt to the characteristics and development of the students so as not to get bored and learning more interesting.
