Abstrak

The background of the research is the result study of social studies of the fifth grade students in SDN 1 NgembalKulon was low. The problem is caused the teacher still used conventional learning method. The problems of research are 1) How increase study result of the student with apply Think Pair Share type of Cooperative Model of the fifth grade student in SD 1 Rejosari 2013/2014? 2) How the activity of learning student with apply Think Pair Share type of Cooperative Model of the fifth grade student in SD 1 Rejosari 2013/2014? 3) How teacher skill to manage the class with applay Think Pair Share type of Cooperative Model of the fifth grade student in SD 1 Rejosari 2013/2014?The objectives of this action research are 1) Describe the improvement of the result in fifth grade students in SD 1 rejosari 2013/2014 using Think Pair Share type of Cooperative Model2) Describe the activity of learning students in fifth grade students in SD 1 rejosari 2013/2014 using Think Pair Share type of Cooperative Model3) Describe the teacher’s skill to manage the class in fifth grade students in SD 1 rejosari 2013/2014 using Think Pair Share type of Cooperative Model? Think Pair Share type of Cooperative Model is learning model which giving students chance to work themselves and cooperate with other. There are three steps of Think Pair Share type of Cooperative Model, those are 1) thinking, 2) pairing, and 3) sharing. This research is classroom action research used design PTK by Kemmis& Mc. Taggart. Research was implemented in 2 cycles, each cycles consist of two appointment. Each cycles used 4 steps, they are planning, action, observation and reflection. The research subject are the fifth grade students in SD 1 Rejosari. Data collecting technic used are test, observation, documentation, and interview. The instrument used list of evaluation test, question in interview, and observation sheet. Data analyze technic of this classroom action research used data analyze technic quantitative and qualiative. The result of the classroom action research used Think Pair Share type of Cooperative Model for social studies of the fifth grade students showed improving the students’ achievement, student’s activities and teacher’s skill to manage the class in each cycle. 1) Classical completeness of student’s achievement pre-cycle is 59,1% with the average 56,36, in cycle I increase become 72,7% with the average 70,2, and in cycle II increase become 95% with the average 83,75. In cycle I, 2) the students in teaching-learning activity got the average score 75,6% with good enough criterion, in cycle II increase become 82% with good criterion. In cycle I, 3) the teacher’s skill to manage the class got the average score 76,7% with good criterion, in cycle II increase become 87% with excellent criterion. The conclusion of this research is by using Think Pair Share type of Cooperative Model can improve student’s achievement in social studies, student’s activities and also teacher’s skill to manage the class. The suggestion of this research is students can more active interact with her group in sharing tasks and task and also the teacher should provide learning visual media audio and concrete objects to create a fun classroom situations so as to encourage students to be more interested in learning.
