Abstrak

Background problem in this study is the low test result descriptions Indonesian writing skills of students due to the learning, the use of models and media by teachers who are still conventional. From the results of the pretest results showed that only 37.5% of students who completed, with an average value of the 69th class of Learning Indonesian is considered complete if 75% of students achieving ≥ 72 KKM the purpose of this study are: (1) to describe the improvement of writing skills essay description after applying the models think pair share an essay writing material with the media snakes and ladders in the fourth grade in elementary Pasucen 01, (2) to describe students' learning activity after applying the models think pair share an essay writing material with media descriptions of snakes in the classroom IV in SD Pasucen 01, and (3) to describe teachers' skills in managing learning material using a model description essay writing think pair share with the media snakes and ladders in the fourth grade in elementary Pasucen 01. The solution of the problem is with the application of the researchers think pair share media aided snakes. Think pair share models allow students to work independently and in collaboration with others, to optimize the participation of students and provide an opportunity at least eight times as much to the students to show their participation to others. Snakes and ladders media is media that uses a board for the base game, which is played by two people or more and usually use pawns with dice run. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using a design Kemmis and Mc Taggart. Research conducted two cycles, each cycle through the 4 stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. Subjects were researcher as teacher and fourth grade students. Data collection techniques used were observation, testing and documentation. Instruments used achievement test, observation and interview guides. The data analysis technique used is the analysis of qualitative data and quantitative data analysis. Based on the research results of the application of cooperative learning models share the type of think pair share media snakes and ladders have been able to resolve the problem. This is evident from the increase in students' writing skills essay description, student activities, and skills of teachers in Indonesian subjects. Cycle I mean classical completeness percentage 81,25% on the test results included in the high criteria whereas the second cycle increased to 95,75% qualifies as very high, the percentage of student activity cycle I was 43.52%, while in the second cycle to 79, 21% the percentage of teachers in teaching skills in the first cycle is 55.85% rise in the second cycle to 73%. The conclusions in this study are learning Indonesian through cooperative learning models share the type of think pair share media snakes and ladders can improve students' skills in essay writing descriptions. Suggestions in this study, teachers can implement cooperative learning model of the type of think pair share media snakes and ladders aided in learning activities in the classroom so that the implementation of a more meaningful learning, increase student activity, so as to improve the skills of essay writing descriptions. �
