Abstrak

This research was classroom action research that is done in SD 4 Hadipolo with subject fourth grade. The background of this study is the low quality of teaching civics in SD 4 Hadipolo. It is characterized by several problems that conventional learning and teacher-centered, students are less active and less enthusiastic, and low learning outcomes. Formulation of the problem in this study is whether the model Think Pair Share learning can improve student learning activities, teachers' skills in teaching and student learning outcomes at the fourth grade in elementary subjects Civics 4 Hadipolo. The purpose of this study was carried out to explain the Think Pair Share learning model can improve student learning activities, teachers' skills in teaching and student learning outcomes at the fourth grade in elementary subjects Civics 4 Hadipolo. The quality of learning is the level of success in order to achieve the goal. In this study the quality of learning seen from the student learning activities, teachers skills and student learning outcomes. Civics is a conscious effort to prepare students to develop a love, loyalty, courage to sacrifice to defend the nation and homeland Indonesia.Think pair share a type of cooperative learning that is designed to influence the pattern of interaction learning siswa. Model Think Pair Share (TPS) provides an opportunity to students more time to think, respond, respond and help each other. The research method that is used is Classroom Action Research model design CAR Stephen Kemmis and Robin Mc Taggart that consist of 2 cycles with CAR steps: (1) planning, (2) implementation of the action, (3) observation and (4) reflection. Data were collected through interviews, observation, documentation, field notes and tests that analyzed by means of quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results of the study civics student learning activities in the first cycle reaches an average score of 69% with criteria of good, skills second cycle increases to 80% of teachers with criteria of good. The results of the first cycle of research in teaching skills of teachers achieving completeness percentage of 70% with criteria of "good" and the second cycle increased to 85% with the criteria of "very good". Civics students' learning outcomes in the cognitive domain of the first cycle was 71% and in the second cycle increased to 87.5%. The results of students' affective domain of learning civics students first cycle reaches 78% with of the criteria of "good" and the second cycle increased to 86.5% with the criteria of "very good". Psychomotor domains of learning outcomes Civics students first cycle 65.85% with the criteria of "good" and the second cycle increased to 76.75% with the criteria of "good". Based on the results above, it can be concluded that by applying the model Think Pair Share can improve the quality of student learning both the skills of teachers in teaching, student learning outcomes of cognitive Civics and student learning activities (learning outcomes affective and psychomotor aspects) fourth grade students 4 Hadipolo academic year 2013/2014. In the model suggest that teachers should make learning Think-Pair-Share (TPS) as an alternative in the implementation of learning in order to improve the quality of student learning. Student learning should be more willing to exchange opinions and express their opinions during the discussion.
