Abstrak

The objectives of this research are to find out: (1) the differences of the influences between VCT (Value Clarification Technique) learning model and Expository toward the understanding of historical tradition values of the students in grade X of the State High Schools in Kudus Regency, (2) the differences of the influences between students who have high level of emotional intelligence and low level of emotional intelligence toward the understanding of historical tradition value of the students of grade X of the State High School in Kudus Regency, (3) the interactions between learning model and emotional intelligence toward the understanding of historical tradition value of the students of grade X of the State High School in Kudus Regency. This research employs quantitative experiment method. The populations are high school (SMA) students of X grade in Kudus Regency, academic year of 2011/2012. The sampling technique is multistage cluster random sampling, were obtained: students of SMA N 1 Bae Kudus as the experiment group, students of SMA N 2 Kudus as the control group, and students of SMA N 2 Bae Kudus as the trial group. The researcher used two kinds of methods of data collection: questionnaire and test. Questionnaire was employed to obtain the data about emotional intelligence; and test was conducted to gather the data about the understanding of historical values. In analyzing the results of the research, the researcher used two-way Analysis of Variance (ANAVA) technique. The result of the hypothesis experiment shows that: (1) There are differences of the influences of VCT (Value Clarification Technique) and Expository learning model toward the understanding of historical tradition values of students in grade X of the State High Schools in Kudus Regency with Fhit = 155,765 > Ftable (α = 0,05) = 3,11 significance level 0,05, means that Ho denied; (2) There are no differences of influences between students who have low emotional intelligence and high emotional intelligence toward the understanding of historical values of students in grade X of the State High Schools in Kudus Regency with Fhit = 0,610 > Ftable (α = 0,05) = 3,11 significance level 0,05, means that Ho accepted; (3) There are no interactions between learning models and emotional intelligence toward the understanding of historical tradition values of students in grade X of the State High Schools in Kudus Regency with Fhit = 0,81 > Ftable (α = 0,05) = 3,11 significance level 0,05, means that Ho accepted.
