Abstrak

ABSTRACT: This experiment was purposed to study the effect of mulch and fruit position on yield of melon ( Cucumis melo L.), there done at Kalipucangwetan, Welahan, Jepara. The soil type was latosol and 7 meters above sea level elevation. The experimental design was Split Plot Design based on Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) involving two factors (three levels of mulch as main plot and three levels of fruit position as subplot) The highest yield was reached at black silver synthetic mulch and 11th internodes from base stem combination treatment (2,22 kg of fruit weight and 12,61 Brix of kadar gula), the lowest yield reached at without mulch and 7th internodes from base stem combination treatment (1,33 kg of fruit weight and 9,93 Brix of kadar gula).
