Abstrak

This research is about the difficulties of English teachers in designing lesson plans according to the 2013 curriculum at Ma Muallimat Kudus. The curriculum in Indonesia changes from time to time. Now schools in Indonesia use the 2013 curriculum, so the 2013 curriculum has a different purpose from the previous curriculum. Dealing with the objectives of the 2013 curriculum causes several problems, one of which is the difficulty in designing lesson plans according to the 2013 curriculum. The purpose of this study is to find out what difficulties are faced by teachers in designing lesson plans and find out solutions to these difficulties. Researchers use a qualitative approach using a descriptive model so that they can obtain an overview of phenomenology. There are two An English teacher. For data collection techniques, the authors use interviews and questtionaire. This study showed that it was hard for English teachers to make a three-step lesson plan for the 2013 curriculum. In the pre-design stage, the teacher had trouble making lesson plans because she didn't have enough time. At the While design stage, it was hard for the English teacher to figure out the right operational verb to use when making indicators. At the post-design stage, the teacher found that the assessment, which had a lot of different parts, was hard to do. So teachers should spend more time with FGD or KKG forums to figure out how to fix problems in the 2013 curriculum so they can make good lesson plans.
