Abstrak

Vocabulary is basic of language, vocabulary means the appropriate diction which is used in communication. Without having enough vocabulary, one cannot communicate effectively or express their ideas in both oral and written form. To make the students interest in learning vocabulary, an interesting teaching media is needed. Movie is one thing that can be used as media to teach because in writer’s view the students are interested in seeing the movie because they watch movie as an entertainment and the teaching and learning become more interesting. This Study is aimed to describe students’ perception of MTS NU Miftahul Huda Kudus on using short movie in learning vocabulary. The data is taken from closed-ended questionnaire and the questionnaire based on the two aspects, they are; psychologically motivating the learners and enriching vocabulary (Vanessa & Arie, 2019). From the questionnaire, it indicated that the students had positive perceptions as the majority of the answer. The result indicated that all two aspects from short movie have big impact in learning vocabulary. Because those five aspects have high percentages in the data, which was showed that 52% of students have high or positive perception of using short movie in learning vocabulary and 48% of students have low perception of using short movie in learning vocabulary. The researcher suggests that this research can be the references for teachers and students in teaching learning process. Therefore, the writer expects that other writers can continue thus research related to the topic and discover another aspect that have impact in learning vocabulary.
