Abstrak

This research was conducted at the SMA Negeri 1 Tayu Pati and specifically for Eleventh Grade Students of SMA Negeri 1 Tayu Pati. The purpose of this research was to find out whether there is a different writing technique to teach writing to students of XI MIPA 1 of SMA Negeri 1 Tayu Pati in the academic year of 2022/2023 before and after being taught by timed handwriting. This study is a pre-experimental study on the implementation of timed handwriting techniques in writing classes. This study is an attempt to determine the effectiveness of timed handwriting as a technique for teaching students writing skills. The study subjects consisted of 36 students of XI MIPA 1 of SMA Negeri 1 Tayu Pati in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. There was a significant difference of the writing ability in pretest and posttest result of pre experimental class before and after being taught by timed handwriting technique for XI MIPA 1 students at SMA Negeri 1 Tayu Pati in the academic year of 2022/2023. The t-table with the level significance of α 0.05 with the degree of freedom (df) n-1 = 36-1 = 35 is 2.030. The result of computation in t-test was 19.405, while the critical value of α 0.05 significant level was (1.67). The conclusion from the data analysis is the value of t-test (19.405) is higher than t-table (1.67). The sig two-tailed showed that the sig (0.000) is lower than sig α (0.05).Therefore it can be concluded the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted there was a significant difference of the pre experimental class before and after being taught by timed handwriting technique
