Abstrak

Proficiency in writing is a vital ability that all EFL students must develop because this skill enhances the development of critical thinking and creativity, enabling students to share their thoughts, emotions, and concepts effectively. Nowadays, many EFL learners still need help choosing the appropriate words, grammar, and spelling when expressing their ideas in writing. This research aims to determine the significant difference in the writing procedure text of the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Tayu before and after using the Grammarly application. This research used a pre-experimental design with one group taking part in it. Eleventh-grade students, especially XI F 08, which consists of 35 students, were chosen as the sample of this research. The result of this research showed that the pre-test mean was 74, while the post-test mean was 93.66. The analysis using SPSS showed the Sig. (2-tailed) 0.00 < 0.05. It is indicated that there is a significant difference in the writing procedure text of eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Tayu before and after using Grammarly. Therefore, the researcher expected that this research could be valuable in the English education field, especially for teachers and other researchers as a reference to improve students’ writing ability.
