Abstrak

In the world of education, an understanding of psychology is very necessary. Especially if you have to deal with the problems of students who are classified as teenagers. Counseling guidance teachers are required to be able to work with young people whose attention and focus tend to be difficult to attract. For example, when a student wants to ask for a recommendation for a major that is suitable for him. In the guidance and counseling section at SMA Negeri 1 Tayu, it still applies a manual approach to students, such as a series of face-to-face questions and answers. To get to the main point, this approach tends to be ineffective and takes a long time. This becomes complicated when students cannot convey what they really want. Even sometimes students are faced with the expectations of parents who demand their children to do things that are not in accordance with their potential. Self-potential can be traced one of them by knowing the personality type. However, in identifying this personality requires an expert in the field of psychology. Meanwhile, SMA Negeri 1 Tayu does not employ a psychologist specifically in the guidance and counseling section. Therefore we need a system that can identify the personality of students, especially students of class XI. Web-based expert systems can help identify student personalities without having to bring in a psychologist. Completion of personality identification using the Forward Chaining and Certainty Factor methods. By keeping abreast of technological developments, a web-based expert system can help identify the personality of students at SMA Negeri 1 Tayu. This expert system was built using the waterfall method, while the design method uses the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
