Abstrak

ABSTRACT: This research was purposed to study the effect of various growth media and spraying frequency on the growth and yield of paddy straw mushroom (Volvariella volvaceae). This semi-laboratorial experimental model applied in this research was the Factorial method based on the Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Involving two factors and three replications. The First factor which the type of growth medium (J) consisted of six levels as follows: :a) paddy straw (J1); b) Sugar cane waste /”bagas” (J2); c), “blotong “ /sugar cane sluge (J3); d) mixture of paddy straw and sugar cane waste (J4); e).mixture of paddy straw and “blotong” /(J5) and mixture of sugar cane waste and “blotong” (J6). The second factor was the spraying frequency (F), consisted of two different levels: a) twice a day (F1) and tree times a day (F2).The statistical analysis applied in this experiment were: Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncans Multiple Range Test (DMRT) 5%. and the parameters observed for this experiment were: The first harvest time ( day after planting), the daily fresh weight (gram) , diameter fruit bodies (cm), total number of fruit bodies, total fresh weight of mushroom and the duration of harverst time. The results of this experiment was the mixture of sugar cane waste’Bagas” and sugar cane sludge“blotong” combined with twice spraying gave the best growth and highest production of paddy straw-mushroom.
