Abstrak
One of the function and purpose of sains is to develop the skill, attitude, and the logical value. So that, it is necessary to develop a teaching model of sains which involve the student actively in learning activity to discover or apply their ideas. But, the reality is the whole of teacher is more active than the student. Commonly, a great part of student believe that sains is the difficult lesson. According to the interview with the teacher of class IV SD 1 Megawon can get the information that the achievement of learning sains for the class IV student is still low. So, the researcher interested to apply the discovery method as an effort to increase the achievement of learning sains for the student of class IV SD 1 Megawon. The problem formulation of this research is the discovery method can improve the achievement of learning sains for the student of class IV in SD 1 Megawon Kudus in the Academic Year 2012/2013 about energy? and What is the attitude of students towards learning of Sciences with guided discovery method?. While the purpose of this research is to describe the learning achievement cognitive, affective, and psychomotor students at the end of each cycle after a given science learning with guided discovery method and a large increase in student achievement knowing the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning students after being given guided discovery. Learning achievement is the result of the measurement and assessment of learning effort. While the method is a guided discovery approach to teaching in which teachers give students examples of specific topics and guide the students to understand the topic. This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. Classroom Action Research is research actions carried out with the aim of improving the quality of instructional practices in the classroom. Subjects in this study were fourth grade students of SD 1 Megawon which totaled 37 students. Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of 3 meetings. Variables used in this study is the independent variable and the dependent variable. Independent variable is the method of guided discovery and achievement dependent variable is learning achievement of science. Student achievement in science learning using guided discovery methods have increased from cycle I to cycle II. This is indicated by the increasing average value. Learning achievement of students cognitive and affective domains in the pre cycle gets an average score of 62.3 to less category. Cycle I obtained an average value of science students is 71.7 with enough criteria. While in the second cycle the average value was 80.22 with a student IPA criteria very well. Psychomotor domain of learning achievement of students in the first cycle obtained total average score is 11.8 students learning activities with enough categories. In the second cycle psychomotor domain of learning achievement of students obtained an average total score of 19.5 students learning activities are categorized as very good. Studies conclusion that penerapa discovery method can improve science learning achievement, so the impact on improving student achievement fourth grade science SD 1 Megawon Kudus. Advice given to teachers is that guided discovery method can be applied to other subjects.
