Abstrak
Online learning or E-learning becomes a substantial part of education. It is implemented almost in all levels of education. There are many obstacles faced by the students in applying the E-learning system. This research aimed to know the obstacles faced by the twelfth class IPA 6 students of SMA 2 Kudus in learning English using Microsoft Teams. A qualitative research design was applied in this study. The data were collected by using a questionnaire increased with an interview. The total participants were 35 students of the twelfth class IPA 6 students of SMA 2 Kudus. The main findings revealed that the material delivered by the teacher which includes explanation, accessing, and understanding is known to be not optimal enough. Learning using Microsoft Teams makes students less disciplined and lazy. Moreover, a lack of knowledge of vocabulary and pronunciation becomes a student’s difficulties in practicing language skills. Further, obstacles faced in technology are signal, data plan, the application itself, and links given by the teacher are less supportive. Meanwhile, the assignment problems cover assignment instruction and deadline, feedback on assignments, and incompatibility between assignments with the material. Therefore, the researchers recommend for the teacher and institution provide support facilities for distance learning and provide material that is interesting, easy to understand, and accessible. The learning process needs to be more attractive through various interactive methods. In addition, to giving assignments, teachers must also give clear work orders, and pay attention to task deadlines.
