Advisors: (1)Drs. Muh. Syafei, M.Pd, (2) Fitri Budi Suryani, SS, M.Pd. Key words: parallelism and aljazeera news In English language, there are two kinds of language, they are spoken andwritten language. However, many students who still get difficulties to understand English in written. Because in written not only grammatically must be correct but also the balance of text must relevant. In this research, the writer focuses on parallelism. The meaning of parallelism is the repetition of chosen grammatical form within sentence but the idea in sentence must logically related should be expressed in grammatical similar construction. Parallelism has two parts, they are types and pattern. Both of them are most interesting and include in one of material for student in learning process of English. The objectives of this research are: (1) to find out types of parallelism found in Aljazeera News posted in September 2013and (2) to describe the pattern of parallelism found in Aljazeera News posted in September 2013. Descriptive qualitative research is used as the design of research to reach the objectives of this research. The data of this research is the types and pattern of parallelism. Meanwhile, the data source of this research is found in Aljazeera News posted in September 2013. Based on the findings, the writer found that (1) there are six types ofparallelism, they arerepetitive, gender-matched, synonymia, synonymous, synthetic, and antithetical. But in here, the writer just found four types. The types of parallelismthat were found in 15 text news of the Aljazeera News posted in September 2013are 114. It is consists of 76 repetitive, 33antithetical, 3synonymous, and the last is 2synthetic. And then, (2)almost the text in Aljazeera News posted in September 2013 uses pattern. But, the most of pattern of parallelism that are found in the program news of Aljazeera News posted in September 2013 is verb. The writer suggests, for the further researchers who are interesting in doing similar research,this research will give comprehendabout parallelism. Furthermore, this research can give contribution to inform other researchers who want to conduct about it,actually analyzing the types and the patterns ofparallelism in the sentence.
