Abstrak

The problem is the background of the implementation of this research is still in the delivery of materials teachers use the lecture method , making it difficult for students to understand the material presented and the teacher is not using the issue as a realistic starting point for learning math . The problems of this classroom action research was whether through Mathematic Education Realistic approach can improve the quality of mathematics teaching material on the relationship between the unit of measurement fourth grade 7 students Klumpit Gebog District of Kudus Regency?". The purpose of this study to determine teacher performance enhancement , learning activities and student learning outcomes in mathematics learning material relationships between units of measure with the approach Realistic Mathematic Education in fourth grade 7 Klumpit Gebog District of Kudus . Realistic Mathematic Education approach is mathematical learning approach which puts reality in the learning process and environment as a starting point for students learning . The quality of learning is the success rate of the learning process undertaken by students with the guidance of teachers characterized by increased knowledge and skills and the development of attitudes of students in accordance with the planned learning objectives. The research hypothesis is Realistic Mathematic Education approach can improve the performance of teachers , and the students' learning activities can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics learning material relationships between units of measure the first half of fourth grade 7 students Klumpit Gebog District of Kudus in academic year 2013/2014 . The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research. There are four stages of TOD implementation phase includes planning , implementation , monitoring / observation , and reflection . Data collection techniques in this study include tests , observations , interviews and documentation . This study tests the instrument includes learning about the test results , observation sheets , interview sheets and documentation . Analysis of the data used is quantitative data and qualitativedata . The conclusions of this study an increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes . It can be seen from the results of studies of student learning outcomes prasiklus gained an average of 62.82 with a percentage of 43.5 % in the moderate category . In cycle I gained an average of 66.95 with a percentage of 65.21 % in the high category . In the second cycle gained an average of 70.43 with the percentage reached 86.97 % in the category of very high so the learning outcomes of students has increased from prasiklus until the second cycle . So also in the learning activities of students also increased . It can be seen from the observation of student learning activities that have increased from the first cycle to the second cycle , the first cycle is 58.7 % with a percentage gain enough category and the second cycle reached 87.4 % with a very good category . Classroom management teachers also increased , the percentage gain in the first cycle 62 % with good category and the second cycle to obtain apercentage of 76.5% both categories . The author recommends for elementary school teachers in schools can also apply this approach in a subsequent study of mathematics, since Realistic Mathematic Education approach can improve the quality of learning. For students with a learning approach for the implementation of Realistic Mathematic Education goes well, then the students should be active in their own learning to build knowledge through a realistic understanding of the issues presented teachers . Expected for other researchers to be able to pay more attention to the manner in which realistic problems in students so that students can easily understand and master the concept of learning material well in order to increase the quality of learning .
