The research variables are models STAD and the lerning outcomes of students. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview, test, and documentation. Instrument in this study is a test at the end of each cycle, the management of learning teacher observation sheets and activity sheets learners observations. Analysis of the data in this classroom action research using quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The result showed that the STAD model of the learning proses IPS, can: (1) improve student learning outcomes in the pre cycle showed an average value of 65,5 with classical completeness 44,44%, cycle I shows the average value of 70,6 with classical completeness 72,2%, in cycle II IPS student learning outcomes increased with an average value of 80,1 and 83,3% classical completeness, (2) observations affective learning activities of student in social studies learning STAD model has increased from cycle I to cycle II, in cycle I obtained an average score of 2,18 with the criteria of “being” with a percentage of 54,7% increase in cycle II to 3,02 with the criteria of “high” with a percentage of 75,6%, (3) Observations psikomotorik learning activities of students in social studies learning STAD model has increased from cycle I to cycle II, in cycle I obtained an average score of 1,98 with a percentage of 50,6% criterion “being” increase in cycle II to 2,72 with a percentage of 75,2% criteria of “high”, (4) Observations on the management of teacher learning cycle I received an average score of 48 with a percentage of 63% criteria “simply” increase in cycle II to 65 with a percentage of 81, 5% criterion “good”.
