Abstrak

Class preparation is one of the most important aspects of a lesson plan to become a teacher. The lesson plan is designed for teachers as pre-teaching to get good strategies to teaching in class. Most students teacher have difficulty managing the actual classroom due to a lack of training in applying lesson plans. The research aims to help develop teaching skills to achieve success in actual classroom teaching experiences, so if something unexpected condition, the students teacher can adapt well. The purpose of this research is to find out the constraints and strategies to overcome the constraints in applying lesson plan of students teacher during the internship program at SMAN 1 Jakenan. This research uses qualitative research in case study that are use interviews, documentation and audio video material as research instruments. The data sources in this research were six seventh semester students in English Education Department of Muria Kudus University who are doing an internship program at SMAN 1 Jakenan in academic year 2022/2023. The results of this research show there are ten constraints in 3 aspects of teaching (pre-teaching, whilst teaching and post-teaching) such as doing apperception, explaining learning objectives, delivering material, using learning media, teaching approaches, assessment, managing time allocation, dealing with unexpected conditions, students' respond, and then giving conclusions, motivation and suggestion to students. And there are 5 strategies to overcome student teacher constraint in applying lesson plan during the internship program at SMAN 1 Jakenan such as using interesting teaching methods, organizing time allocation, consulting with guidance teacher, using approach strategies and trying to be flexible and adaptive. Therefore, the researcher hopes the students teacher must be able to self-reflect in analyzing difficulties and adjusting appropriate strategies to overcome constraints in applying lesson plan during the internship program. To lecturers are expected be able to provide more strategies or anticipate in application appropriate teaching for students teacher so they don't have the same problems. And for Previous researchers are expected be able to process the constraints in applying lesson plans that have not been found in this research with using other research methods and optimizing strategies to overcome the constraints in applying lesson plan.
